Children Dorothy Costume

Halloween is one of the best and most enjoyed holidays. It’s a big hit especially with the kids and to some extent the teenagers as well. The kids love them for a variety of reasons with the most obvious being the free candy. The second reason is because they get to dress up as any character they want. It’s also a fun time for you as an adult because you get to dress up as well and have fun, or if you are a parent, take that time for some parent-child bonding when you go tricker-treading.

This officially licensed child costume includes blue checkered dress with attached white blouse and one (1) hair ribbon/bow. Please note: the image shows two hair ribbons, due to a style change by the manufacturer only one (1) hair ribbon is included. Tights and shoes not included. This is an officially licensed Wizard of Oz costume.

One of the decisions that you have to make in the latter scenario is the kind of costume to pick up especially for your baby girl (let’s assume she is a girl). There are a lot of choices, and for your kid, these usually revolve around characters in story books and children’s movies. Chances are, your little girl has read or watched a movie on the wizard of Oz. If yes then you know one of the most obvious and most natural choices would be the Dorothy Costume. It’s both fun and easy to access as it is one of the most common girl costumes. It works awesomely well with Halloween family themes where you adopt a theme as a family for your costumes as every other member of the family, you included can choose a costume from the story- there is the tin man, the scarecrow and the witches.

The Children’s Dorothy Costume is readily available from online and brick and mortar stores at relatively affordable prices. Depending on how much you have set aside, you could get a costume for as less as $8 or in the excess of $30 depending on where exactly is it that you shop. The costume is relatively easy to make at home since there are no complexities as far as the design is concerned. Getting the length is of the essence as it helps brings out the real Dorothy. Teenagers especially love the short dresses as it suits their size best.

Our deluxe child Dorothy costume includes a white and blue gingham deluxe dress with attached lace trimmed petticoat and a single hair bow (differs from image and packaging). Toto in Basket and Ruby Slippers sold separately. This is an officially licensed Wizard of Oz costume.

Accessorizing with the Dorothy costume is relatively easy as well. There is the Dorothy wig which is available for the girls who want the complete Dorothy look. The wig comes with ponytails with hair ribbons as well. There are shoes too that are meant for the dress as well. The most common one recommended are the red ruby-like flats that go well with the costume. They are the best as far as Dorothy the Costume is concerned but as far as the shoes go, finding a pair that works with the costume is fairly easy given the fact that the gingham jumper dress allows it.

For total completion and total ‘pulling the costume off’ you need to get a hand basket. It’s small by description and is meant to accessorize and not really be a luggage carrier (well maybe for candy if it’s for your baby girl). The Dorothy Costume should be one of the choices of Halloween dressing that you should consider because it’s both simple to put together and easy to accessorize with as well.
